I am a seasoned General Counsel accustomed to working at Board level. I have extensive experience of developing and applying good corporate governance, as well as project management and M&A transactions, IPO's, private equity investment, investigations and dispute resolution; I have also worked as a pension trustee director. I am used to dealing with regulators including the FCA, PRA, CMA, FRC, TPR, ICO and the European Commission.
At Allianz UK I led the successful acquisitions of the general insurance businesses of LV= and Legal & General, moving the company to #2 in the market with 9m customers, £4bn in revenues and 8000 FTEs. I also restructured the governance regime to comply with regulatory and best practice requirements.
With a collegiate style that encourages confidence and openness, I work with Chairs, other NEDs, CEOs and executive teams to enable Boards and Committees to function efficiently and effectively, integrating corporate and cultural change where necessary. In doing so I am confident in supporting and challenging Boards and senior management.
I am currently a Non Executive Director of a non-profit Community Interest Company which I co-founded in March 2021. I am also a Trustee and Vice Chairman of a registered charity.
