I am a Committee Chair and Member and Executive Director with over a decade of board-level experience with particular expertise across the Government, Local Administration, Education and Not-for-Profit sectors. At board level, what I do is drive organisational performance. I do that by leveraging my knowledge in resources, people, finance risk and assurance, stakeholder management, performance management systems, cultural & organisational change, policy development, strategy development and implementation. Board level highlights include: Joint Independent Audit Committee Member at the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (and South Yorkshire Police); Chair of Trustee Management Committee at Sheffield Information Link and Member of the Board, Finance, Audit, Nominations and Remuneration Committees at Skills for Justice. In an executive capacity, I have recently held the Executive Director People and Business Support position at Social Work England. Here I led all aspects of people and business support, including governance, assurance, finance, commercial and digital development. Previously, I was the Head of Leadership and Workforce Development at the National College for Teaching and Leadership, where I led the national teacher development programmes securing £24m investment to convert 15,000 non-specialist teachers to teach maths and physics. Earlier, as the Lead for Teacher Recruitment and Quality Assurance at the Teaching Agency, I led the annual recruitment and quality assurance of teacher training for c.35,000 teachers. Finally, I hold a BA in English and Theatre Studies from Manchester University, and a Certificate of Qualification in Social Work from the University of Sheffield. Board development includes Good Governance Institute Coaching and a High Performing and Effective Board Programme.
